Scar Retexturing

Large scars can be “broken up” and softened with this procedure to reduce their appearance, colour, tissue thickness and consistency.

Please only book this service after sending photos by email to info@falconartistry.com to discuss your custom rate and amount of sessions required for your case.

How your appointment works

You are involved in every step of the process

  1. We start by going over your goals and how you’d like things to look

  2. I offer suggestions and show examples from past clients for reference

  3. I’ll map it directly on your body so you can see how it looks on you

  4. You approve the shape and the colour

  5. Once everything is approved by you, THEN we proceed with the tattoo

Sometimes tattooing isn’t needed!

Scar Retexturing or “Collagen Induction Therapy” causes the scars to “re-heal,” changing the appearance of so it blends nicely with the surrounding skin and softened. This procedure reduces the scars’ appearance, colour, tissue thickness and consistency. When a particularly large scar is worked on, multiple sessions will be required and the scar may appear pink for a few weeks as it is “re-healing” in it’s revised state. This can be a finishing touch to surgery, creating more flexibility, reducing tightness and changing the colour.

How does it work?

Previous attempts to mitigate the appearance of scarring have been with microdermabrasion (longer downtime with only 10% difference.) Steroid shots, laser, silicone scar patches.

FOLLOW UP INFO (Return existing clients):

  • Follow up appointments vary in timing depending on your skin type and how long your skin  and ink take to “settle.” Ideally we can check in and see how you are progressing at the 8  week mark to assess when you could return for subsequent appointments.

  • I understand that the price of my procedure includes 1 appointment only. These services  can require a few sessions (depending on your service) to ensure your results are optimal.  Your follow up sessions build off of your healed results, layering your colouring to keep it  natural looking, and any adjustments are made if needed.

Scar Retexturing Frequently Asked Questions

  • Your scar must be fully healed and at least 4 months old (depending on the size, type and location) A note on fresh scars- don’t let scars that are still healing get in the sun! This can create a darker pigmentation while healing.
