Pre-Procedure & Policies

Service-Specific Instructions

Please note, this info is also reviewed in your forms upon booking. For your reference, below are the guidelines for your specific service type.

    • Photos must be emailed in advance to ensure you are a good candidate for this service.

    • Stretchmarks need to be light in colour, not darker than the surrounding skin tone.

    • Dark scars can be lightened but will take multiple sessions. It is not possible to predict how many sessions your case will need.

    • Stretchmarks must be at least 1 year – 18 months old and no longer pink or dark.

    • Surgical scarring needs to be 18 months – 2 years old. Scarring that is surface layer can be tattooed after 3-4 months.

    • Skin must not be tanned, so the tattoo blends with your natural skin tone.

    • If you have Vitiligo, confirm with your doctor that a tattoo is the right choice for you to ensure a tattoo
      won’t further agitate it.

    • Understand that it will require multiple sessions to achieve results and the results may not be as expected
initially. The ink will not blend perfectly with my skin tone and will not adjust as I tan/grow paler.

    • Do not assess results until full healing. A complete treatment may include multiple visits.

    • Healing time for Stretch Mark & Scar Camouflage in TOTAL is 3 months for the skin and colour to stabilize to see your final result.

    • If you are prone to hyperpigmentation, you may need 1 year before the colour settles in your skin to see the final result.

    • Follow up appointments may be made after 3 months (if needed)

    • Wear loose, comfortable clothing in the area that you are going to be tattooed in to your appointment.

If you would like more details on healing process visit: https://falconartistry.com/aftercare/

    • Due to the existing colour and inconsistent nature of your existing tattoo removal is highly recommended before tattooing again in a lot of cases.

    • IF YOU WISH TO HAVE THE SAME AREA TREATED- You must send clear photos prior to booking. This helps determine what the best course of action is for your specific case. Photos must be emailed in advance to ensure you are a good candidate for this service.

    • Botox and filler on the forehead, temple, and eye area should be avoided 1 month prior to procedure for those who do not regularly receive injectables. It is advised to have them booked at least 3 weeks after your appointment with us.

    Please be aware:
-Results may be 2-3 shades darker if they are tattooed over your existing tattoo.
-Results may be uneven and/or heal with darker spots if they are tattooed over your existing tattoo. There are limitations to tattooing with an existing colour underneath and it may take multiple sessions to blend and achieve the desired result.

    • If there is previous permanent makeup in the area, results are unpredictable and not guaranteed. It is impossible to determine the amount of pigment that remains in the skin and the extent of skin damage and scar tissue present, all of which will affect pigment retention

    • We cannot guarantee how you will heal if you have been worked on previously by another technician.

    • You will more than likely require more than one appointment, allowing the tattoo to heal and see how it needs to be adjusted with the existing colour.

    • Have you had surgery in the last 6 months or do you have surgery planned in the near future? (Please note, eye surgery must have been over 3 months ago with the doctor’s permission to do this service.)

    • Have you used Latisse or any other eyelash growth product in the last year? ALL LASH GROWTH SERUMS MUST BE STOPPED AT LEAST 1 MONTH PRIOR TO ANY EYELINER PROCEDURES.

    • Eyelash extensions must be PROFESSIONALLY removed by your Lash Technician at least 48 hours prior to any Eyeliner procedure. Falcon Artistry Specialty Tattoo will not remove eyelash extensions and will decline your service without refund if you fail to comply.

    • If you wear contacts, they must be removed before procedure. You will need to bring a pair of glasses as most clients are unable to insert contacts afterwards

    • Botox and filler on the forehead, temple, and eye area should be avoided 1 month prior to procedure for those who do not regularly receive injectables. It is advised to have them booked at least 3 weeks after your appointment with us.

    • To avoid complications and a cold sore outbreak, you MUST obtain prescription ZOVIROX / VALTREX from your physician. Start the prescription 3 days prior to the procedure and continue 4 days post procedure. Most people cannot remember if they have had a cold sore (even once), so every client should take this medication as a preventative measure. *The medication is to prevent an outbreak, but this cannot be guaranteed.

    • Lip injections must be avoided 3 months in advance due to injections enhancing lip size this could alter lip tattoo shape and symmetry. You may resume lip injections after appointment once lips are healed.

    • All clients requesting this service must obtain an oral prescription such as Valtrex from a Doctor before appointment regardless if you have a history of cold sores or not. NO EXCEPTIONS Please inform your Doctor that you will be undergoing lip tattoo procedure, date and time so that the correct dosage is given to you.

    • Fitzpatick Skin Types V or VI are NOT candidates for Permanent Lip Colour. If you are booking an appointment for Permanent Lip Colour and are a Fitzpatrick Skin Type III or IV, please send a photo of your lips in advance of booking (with no makeup and in clear daylight) so we can assess whether or not you are a candidate for this procedure. Photos can be emailed to info@falconartistry.com

    • For post-mastectomy: generally we recommend at least a year after all your surgeries are completed. (Email to inquire if you have questions.)

    • I understand that almost all Areola Restorative / Nipple Tattoo procedures will require a consultation to determine if the skin is ready to be tattooed.

    • “Areola Restorative” refers to 3D appearance nipple tattoos after a mastectomy, or any tattooing where a nipple is being tattooed where there is no existing nipple.

    • “Nipple Pigmentation” refers to tattooing around an existing natural nipple to adjust the shape, colour or proportion.

    • I understand that if I have had a previous tattoo in the area results are unpredictable and not guaranteed. It is impossible to determine the amount of pigment that remains in the skin and the extent of skin damage and scar tissue present, all of which will affect pigment retention.

    • (For Nipple Pigmentation – tattooing around an existing natural nipple) The price of my procedure will be discussed with me during the consultation. I acknowledge that allowing this procedure to begin indicates that I have approved of the procedure cost and that I also understand any additional costs that may be required at future appointments.

    • (Post-Surgical) I understand that I may require a follow up appointment, as the skin is compromised and requires care and possible layering. The follow up is available to me after 10-12 weeks. Pricing for main location is compassionate, with no follow up fee. (Travel locations are a $150 charge to cover expenses and shop commissions.)

    • No hair systems, powders, sprays etc to be worn in the area you are having tattooed the day of your appointment.

    – Shave your head very closely in advance of your appointment if you are getting full head SMP. (We can trim closer before we start as well.)

    PREVIOUS SMP:

    • I understand that if I have had previous SMP in the area, results are unpredictable and not guaranteed. It is impossible to determine the amount of pigment that remains in the skin and the extent of skin damage and scar tissue present, all of which will affect pigment retention.

    • IF YOU WISH TO HAVE THE SAME AREA TREATED, YOU MUST SEND US A CLEAR PHOTO PRIOR TO BOOKING YOUR APPOINTMENT. Photos must be emailed in advance to ensure you are a good candidate for this service.

    • I understand this procedure utilizes small tattoo needles to administer Li-FT Pigment Lightening solution into the area of my existing tattoo.

    • The nature and method of this tattoo removal method has been explained to me, including the possibility of complications during or following the treatment. I am aware this procedure may cause temporary irritation including inflammation, bleeding, bruising, redness, and/or discolouration of the skin in the treated area and surrounding skin.

    • I am aware that, although Li-FT Pigment Lightening is a safe method of tattoo removal, in very rare cases it is possible for hypopigmentation or hyperpigmentation, scarring, or other skin damage to occur. Should this occur, I will not hold Falcon Artistry or the manufacturer of Li-FT Pigment Lightening solution responsible.

    • I understand that there are other methods of removal, such as surgical removal and laser treatment. I am satisfied that these are not the right choices for me.

    • I am aware that individual response to this treatment is varied and that several treatments may be required to lighten or remove my tattoo to my satisfaction. I understand that in some cases unwanted pigment may not be successfully lightened to the point it can no longer be seen or may not even be lightened at all.

    • I understand that if I am prone to cold sores, and this treatment is performed around the mouth, it may cause activation of the cold sore virus. It is my decision and responsibility to see a physician beforehand to discuss prophylactic treatment if this is a concern.

    • I understand that it is mandatory that I follow the aftercare instructions given. Should I choose not to, Falcon Artistry will not be held responsible for results that are less than satisfactory, nor will we administer further treatments.

    • I understand that no additional procedures (including a new tattoo) should be performed on the area for a MINIMUM OF 8 WEEKS, and sometimes even longer, to allow for complete healing of the skin.

    • I understand that I should avoid touching the treated area for any reason until fully healed and that if I need to do so I will ensure my hands have been washed to minimize any risk of infection.

    • Although Li-FT Pigment Lightening solution is a safe and gentle method of tattoo removal, I understand it is impossible to determine the extent of skin damage and scar tissue caused by my initial tattoo, thus it is impossible to predict the success of future tattoos in the area.

    • I understand that there is a possibility of scarring in the process of extracting the ink. (Scar revision can be done in a separate treatment after the removal appointments have been done.)

    • I understand that I should not expose the healing area to sun as it may darken the tissue that is in the process of recovering.

  • Please note the specific instructions for the type of service you are receiving in the areas below.

    • 8 weeks pre-chemo for a service. 8-12 months post-chemo for a service. As we value your safety first, these timelines are estimations. It depends on the individual, their type of chemo and treatments. To avoid infection and promote proper healing, a letter from the doctor is required to confirm the recommended timeline that is appropriate to be tattooed.

    • Facial waxing should be performed no later than two days before the procedure and no sooner than 7 days after.
