How your appointment works

You are involved in every step of the process

  1. We start by going over your goals and how you’d like things to look

  2. I offer suggestions and show examples from past clients for reference

  3. I’ll map it directly on your body so you can see how it looks on you

  4. You approve the shape and the colour

  5. Once everything is approved by you, THEN we proceed with the tattoo

Am I a Candidate?

Camouflage tattoos are only suitable in very specific instances. If you are considering this treatment, photos must be sent in advance of booking this service to ensure you are a good candidate and to get a quote. For notes on sending photos, click here.

Consultations are reserved for those that have sent photos already, have been deemed to be good candidates and want to come in to discuss in person as well.
Multiple sessions may be required.

Follow up appointment recommended 3 months after initial tattoo appointment to ensure adequate healing and colour stability before assessment.

*Stretchmarks need to be light in colour, not darker than the surrounding skin tone. Dark scars can be lightened but will take multiple sessions.

Are any of the scars “raised?” Or are they flat and flush with the skin? If they are raised, look into our Scar Revision service to change the texture first!

Have you tried everything and been told you need to “live with” what’s bothering you?

From pigmentation loss, to scarring and stretchmarks – Your marks tell a story, but maybe it isn’t a story you want to tell. Often it gets tiring when people are pointing something out or asking about it. If you’re bothered by it, nothing is too small and you owe yourself the freedom of feeling less self-conscious!

You don't need to get large artistic tattoos to cover these marks!

We tattoo conservatively to ensure the most natural-looking results. Multiple sessions may be required to ensure the custom-mixed skin tone heals and blends with the surrounding skin. These tattoos are meant to blend with the surrounding skin to make them less noticeable. The appearance of these marks can be softened with this tattoo service to reduce their contrast, colour and consistency. This is a detailed slow process with colours custom mixed for your specific case.

FOLLOW UP INFO (Return existing clients):

  • Follow up appointments vary in timing depending on your skin type and how long your skin  and ink take to “settle.” Ideally we can check in and see how you are progressing at the 8  week mark to assess when you could return for subsequent appointments.

  • I understand that the price of my procedure includes 1 appointment only. These services  can require a few sessions (depending on your service) to ensure your results are optimal.  Your follow up sessions build off of your healed results, layering your colouring to keep it  natural looking, and any adjustments are made if needed.

Scar & Stretch Camo Frequently Asked Questions

  • These tattoos are commonly used for scarring, pigmentation loss and stretchmarks. Camouflage tattoos involve custom mixing a colour that blends with your natural skin tone to disguise a scar or skin imperfection. We tattoo conservatively, ensuring we see what it looks like healed before proceeding with “layers” to ensure the most natural result possible. As such, multiple appointments are usually required for optimal results and coverage.

  • There are many factors such as the skin type, skin colouring, contrast between the mark and skintone, age, and texture that determine if someone is a good candidate. Send some pictures via email to determine if you’re a candidate for this procedure and to receive a quote. This required for all clients prior to booking.

  • Other than a tummy tuck, or the literal removal of skin, there is no proven way to remove stretch marks. The Stretch Mark Camouflage Tattoo only helps to conceal and diminish the appearance of stretch marks so that they are less perceptible to the naked eye. Think of it as having a filter, taking away the white contrast of your scars.

  • There is little to no downtime for this procedure as most often it can be covered with clothing. You can go back to work. The treated area will look red and raised depending on the type of service you get. Aftercare is explained to you to ensure best healed results.

  • They are many variables, however usually the colour stabilizes after 3 months. If you have a darker skintone, you may experience some hyperpigmentation during the intial stages of healing and it may take a little longer to see your healed result. During your consultation, we can discuss and assess your skin’s estimated timeline and variables.

  • This depends on your specific case and desired result. Usually it will take more than one session, as the initial session is done conservatively to see how it heals and to adjust the colouring if need be for subsequent sessions.

  • Our highest priority is the safety of you and your baby therefore we are unable to treat you while pregnant or breastfeeding. We look forward to treating you once you are no longer breastfeeding.

  • We prefer to match only your natural skin tone, and require that our clients postpone their session until their tan has faded. This ensures that we are able to custom blend an ink color that will look most natural whether you’re tanned or not.

  • Your camouflaged stretch marks and scars will not change color. If you tan, your skin’s overtone will darken, but your stretch marks will remain the same color as your natural skin-toned ink tattoo. Overall, your stretch marks will still be camouflaged because the “white” is no longer there. In short, there’s less of an obvious contrast.
