About Scar Camouflage Tattooing
Scar camouflage is a certified paramedical tattooing procedure that uses custom-blended, skin-matched pigment to reduce the visible contrast between healed scar tissue and the surrounding skin. Using advanced technique developed over 10 years, Candice creates natural-looking results that integrate with your complexion under all lighting conditions.
Scar camouflage is only suitable in specific cases. Candidacy depends on scar maturity, colour, texture, and skin tone. A photo consultation is required — this ensures your healing journey produces the results you expect
Who is a good candidate? Scars must be fully healed — typically 1 to 2 years post-surgery or injury. The scar must be lighter in colour than the surrounding skin tone. Raised, textured, or hypertrophic scars are assessed individually. A photo consultation determines suitability before any appointment is confirmed.
Areas Treated: Surgical scars (abdomen, chest, hip, back), C-section scars, tummy tuck scars, mastectomy scars, breast augmentation scars, burn scars, skin graft sites, and hypopigmented areas.
What to expect: Zero downtime. Treated skin may appear slightly red or pink immediately after the session — this resolves within hours to a few days. A mild sunburn sensation is the most commonly reported feeling. Daily activities can resume immediately.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
The best candidates have scars that are fully healed, flat, and lighter in colour than the surrounding skin. Scars should be at least 12–24 months old. Raised, dark, or highly textured scars may require additional sessions or may not be suitable. A certified photo assessment is required before any appointment is confirmed.
-
Custom-blended, medical-grade pigment is matched to your surrounding skin tone and tattooed into the scar tissue using advanced paramedical technique. This reduces the colour contrast between the scar and the skin, making the scar blend naturally into the surrounding area under everyday lighting.
-
Most clients see a significant natural improvement after two to three sessions spaced 6–8 weeks apart. Pigment retention varies by scar depth, skin type, and the area treated. Results are reviewed after each session and adjusted accordingly.
